Episode 117: The Homecoming
Alexis is back. She is thrown into the same dungeon with Krystle. The dungeon really has changed Krystle (and she probably has only been in there for about 3 hours) as she blames Alexis for all of this. Alexis is capable of many things, but I doubt a coup d'etat is one of them. Krystle believes that if Alexis did not sell her daughter for some mineral rights, they never would have been caught in all of this foreign intrigue. Alexis, rightly, tells Krystle that they should figure out how to get out of the dungeon instead of casting blame.
There really is no need for them to figure anything out. Blake has devised a plan of his own. Did you think he was going to engage in a rescue mission as Dex would? Nah, that isn't Blake's way. He basically lets the Interior Minister know that he has put a $5 million bounty out on him unless Krystle and Alexis are returned safely. That ends their captivity, and everyone is on their way back to Denver. So long Moldavia!
In New York, Sammy Jo has Rita watch coverage of the family's return so she can learn to act like Krystle. After much work, Sammy Jo does not believe that Rita will be able to pull off being Krystle. Besides, it is Sammy Jo's money, why should she go through so much just to get access to it? No, Sammy Jo is going to return to Denver and spend her money as she sees fit, without Rita's help. Rita decides to return to her boyfriend, Joel Abrigore. Rita tells Joel of Sammy Jo's plan and Joel seems interested in reviving it when he realizes that there are millions involved.
Steven gets to bury a second boyfriend. This time, at least, he does not have the awkward feeling of being the son of the dead victim's killer. Steven gives a touching eulogy for Luke. Damn, Luke has received more attention these last two episodes than he received in Season 5. I kind of think the writers would have done better to have kept Luke alive, have Steven move in, and have Sammy Jo sue for custody. Too bad times were not that progressive. Following the funeral, Claudia consoles Steven and Adam hates that Claudia would do such a thing. Get a grip, Adam.
Alexis is tormented by the knowledge that King Galen is still alive. (This is why it was meant for Alexis, and not Krystle, to see Galen alive.) Alexis is so preoccupied with Galen that she does not realize the ridiculous outfit she is wearing or that she agrees with Dominique to sell the Sumatra timberland. Alexis wants to go public with her knowledge, but Dex tells her that may tip off the revolutionaries in Moldavia who may actually kill Galen.
There really is not much for a deposed monarch to do. Michael continues to live in the fantasy that he is king, Amanda is his queen, and that Moldavia is still his. Blake tries to jump start Michael into starting a commoner life (though wealthy) in Denver. Michael really is not interested in that. He is more concerned with getting back his realm. This is the 1980s, right? Like all deposed monarchy, Michael should just become Euro-trash.
The only item of Lady Ashley's that Jeff cares about is the photograph from Los Angeles that Jeff swears contains Fallon. Dominique tells Jeff to let it go and so does Blake, but Jeff cannot. Jeff is correct that Fallon is alive but does not realize Fallon is spending more time with Miles, Jeff's cousin (at the time). Fallon wants Miles to speak about the Colbys and why she feels the name means something to her. Miles would rather get Fallon/Randall into bed. I hate to say it, but Miles is kind of annoying. Then, I start to think about The Colbys, and realize he was always pretty annoying.
Sammy Jo wants to redecorate Delta Rho. Krystle does not think Sammy Jo should get rid of every single thing that Daniel had, but Sammy Jo will do as she pleases. Sammy Jo also wants more money, but Krystle will not give it to her. Angered, Sammy Jo returns to New York to see Rita and Joel in her place. The two are going to work together to get Rita to be just like Krystle, that is, if Sammy Jo is game. What do you think?
Claudia: But, marriage, it always seems to destroy what love there is. It's happen twice to me.
Michael: Well, I'm wondering if you're really my lady in waiting, or still daddy's little girl.
Amanda: Well, I was hardly daddy's little girl last night, was I?
Alexis [to Dominique]: You've always been better at screeching than listening.
