dynasty Episode 31 - The Gun
Two weeks have passed. Alexis spent the two weeks in Acapulco, Fallon spent it bonding with her child who remains in the hospital and Claudia spent it playing with her gun. It has now been three weeks since Fallon's child has been born and Jeff has the temerity to ask Fallon when she plans on naming the child so he can get the birth certificate. Fallon, still upset over her unknown roots, tells Jeff he can name the child himself if it is so important to him.
Blake finally talks to Fallon about the paternity issues. Fallon says she wants the blood test. She needs certainty. Blake forces Alexis to get Cecil to show up at Dr. Nick's office for the paternity test. At the time, there was no DNA tests. There was, however, HLA (human leukocyte antigen) tests which could only exclude an individual from being the father. Alexis assures Blake that the only contenders for Fallon's father is he and Cecil.
The drawing of the blood goes well as Blake confronts Cecil about blackmailing Claudia. Cecil keeps insisting that Claudia was her own prostitute and did it on her own. Blake shows his appreciation by punching Cecil and calling him Claudia's pimp. Cecil vows revenge. Good news with the blood test, Blake is Fallon's father.
Cecil may score a few points against Blake, though. Cecil has lunch with Alexis at the St. Dennis Club and tells Alexis that he still loves her and that they should try again. Oh Cecil, again, you should have been aware of the psychic's warning. We also learn that Cecil and Alexis were dating but Alexis met Blake and she accepted his marriage proposal after a few dates. Alexis was just so in love with Blake, but not anymore. Right?
Steven is just hanging around the mansion. He is desperate to find Sammy Jo even though she is not in the mansion. He overhears Joseph on the phone with a person he believes to be Sammy Jo. Steven demands to know if that was Sammy Jo and even pulls rank. Joseph refuses to budge, until a little bit later he tells Steven where he could find Sammy Jo. Let Steven go to her and make his own mistakes. Sammy Jo has gone off to Hollywood to make it big. And, by making it big, she is working with some sleazy photographer. Give it a few more weeks and she will be into porn.
Steven tells Sammy Jo that he cannot live without her. (Gag!) Sammy Jo, who is horrible at keeping secrets, tells Steven that Alexis offered her the money and even tried to get her to sign a paper saying the marriage was never consummated. Steven is hoping to bring Sammy Jo back, but Sammy Jo does not need Steven and the Carrington crumbs. She is staying in Hollywood. Tough break Steven.
Since finding her gun, Claudia has been practicing her aim through visions of Cecil taking a much younger Lindsey away from Claudia. Blake wants Claudia to move back into the house, but Claudia is not interested. She is ready to go to South America to find Lindsey. Blake convinces her to stay in Denver and that he will do all that he can to find out what happen and tell Claudia the truth - good or bad. Claudia agrees to remain, for now.
Blake is on a roll - Fallon's child is thriving, he promises Krystle to take care of Alexis after Fallon's child is out of the hospital and he has managed to pay off Logan's man to get a face to face meeting. Andrew puts a damper on Blake's glee over this meeting. But, nothing is going to ruin Blake's joy. Once you claim everything is going well, it will go downhill.
Krystle tries again to form a friendship with Claudia. But, the only thing Claudia is focused on is finding Lindsey. While working late at Denver Carrington, a cable comes in and Claudia happens to read it. The cable says that the jeep was found and no bodies were found - they would have been burned beyond recognition. A distraught Claudia tries to call Blake, but gets Krystle instead. Krystle tells her to remain but Claudia wants to be alone (then why call Blake). Krystle calls Nick and goes to Claudia herself. Of course, she goes to Claudia's home and not Denver Carrington. I guess we can assume she went to Denver Carrington first, but what explains Nick's eventual arrival.
Anyway, Krystle enter's Claudia's apartment and tries to get Claudia to come back to the mansion. When Krystle sees Claudia's gun, she believes that Claudia is going to kill herself. Claudia tells her not to worry, she is going to use it to kill Cecil. A struggle over the gun ensues and it goes off as Nick comes to the apartment. Nick opens the door and says "My God". Of course, we won't learn what happened until the next episode.
Memorable Dialogue
Fallon: Name him what you want. I don't care.
Jeff: What do yo mean you don't care?
Fallon: Call him anything you want.
Alexis: Oh, I heard there was a photograph of me at a ball in the Chronicle, didn't you see it.
Joseph: No, I didn't
Alexis: Oh, don't tell me you stopped keeping a scrap book on my adventures, Joseph. How disappointing!
Alexis: Take this donkey, Joseph and stick it wherever you see fit.
Cecil: Young people these days are ingrates.
Blake: Yes, Claudia Blaisdel and I hate your guts for what you've done to her.
Cecil: She's no better than a prostitute, Blake.
Blake: What?
Cecil: Face it. She slept with your son-in-law for profit while his wife, your daughter, was delivering your grandson. Now, doesn't that make her a prostitute.
Blake: [Punches Cecil] That's for the pimp who made her a prostitute.
Steven: Look, you're a servant here, Joseph. And, I order you to tell me.
Joseph: Do you? Did you also order me to change your diapers when you were a baby, or did I perform that delightful chore because no one else seemed available.
Sammy Jo: Your dear mother asked me to sign a piece of paper and you know what that paper would make you out to be - a fag.
