dynasty episode 18 - reconciliation
Steven does not last long in the coma. He has some problems remembering certain things - and who can blame him- but, other than that, he is doing good. And, Alexis will see to it and she pretty much does as she pleases in the mansion. Krystle hired 24-hour nurse care for Steven, but Alexis cancelled it. Why have nurses there, when Alexis can play mistress of the house again. It really is starting to annoy Krystle, and Dr. Nick notices it.
Besides caring for Claudia, Dr. Nick does a little taking care of Steven too. Steven's brain is just find, he does not need a head shrink. Blake is grateful that Dr. Nick saved Steven's life and tells Dr. Nick that he is indebted to him. Then, Dr. Nick has some flashback to a man hanging. Hmmm. . . that must have something to do with his revenge on Blake.
Meanwhile, Frank Dean, a stock car driver and his tart of a daughter, Sammy Jo, are practicing for the next race. Frank's current wife wants to get rid of Sammy Jo - there is only so much room in the Winnabego. As luck would have it, Frank turns on the news and sees his former sister-in-law, Krystle. (Frank was married to Krystle's deceased sister Iris.) And Krystle is married to Blake Carrington. You think he would have learned of this sooner. Oh well, Frank has a great idea, he is going to pawn Sammy Jo off on Krystle. Krystle is glad to have her niece stay with her for as long as she wants. This should also help Krystle since now she may have more friendlier faces in the mansion. That will prove to be a miscalculation, Krystle.
Cecil smells blood with Blake. Jeff is angry that Cecil would keep Blake out of the oil deal in Los Angeles. Sit down little boy, this is how the bigwigs play ball. And, speaking of which, Cecil is interested in buying Blake's football team. Cecil, over a gentlemanly breakfast, puts the squeeze on Blake. He is calling in the $9 million loan to Blake. But, Cecil, will forgive the loan if Blake gives him the football team, and Cecil will even add a million. Blake claims the football team is worth at least $20 million. Wow! Most football teams are now worth a billion dollars. Don't sell Blake!!!! Blake is not going to sell the team, he will get the $9 million somehow.
Sammy Jo arrives at the mansion in some nice daisy dukes and half shirt. Joseph could not be more thrilled. I don't think Joseph is liking all these young people hanging around the mansion. Joseph may need to loosen up. Still, he informs Sammy Jo that there will not be any pizza and that dinner is served at 8 and to dress for dinner. While sliding down the stair railing, Sammy Jo runs into Alexis. Sammy Jo does love to talk and tells Alexis all about Krystle, particularly, her maiden name. That is all Alexis needs. She contacts a private investigator, Morgan Hess, to find out all he can on a Krystle Grant.
Meanwhile, Sammy Jo finds Steven in the study and talks his ear off about stock car racing. Steven's accident must have caused brain damage because he is actually interested in what Sammy Jo has to say. Sammy Jo is definitely interested in Steven - well, at least his hair. She is trying to become a stylist, through the mail, of course. If Blake knew that a good knock on the head would make Steven kind of straight, I am sure he would have done it to him himself months ago.
Memorable Dialogue
Alexis: Must be a lot of tension in his mind associated with you.
Krystle: Strange, I mean you. How you have this uncanny talent for coloring things. The way want them to appear, even when you are under oath on the witness stand. But, that does not make it true, Alexis.
Cecil: And so the two pirates part company but one stands alone on the plank.
Blake: With you ready to give the final push. Right, Cecil? No, I wouldn't try that if I were you.
