dynasty Episode 111 - Reconciliation
Despite the poor behavior of the business titans, the plane manages to crash land with no one dying. Granted, both Daniel and the pilot need to be brought to safety by Blake before the plane blows up. Even though the three are away from the exploded plane, they are not out of the woods just yet. A storm, of course, is brewing. Further, the temperatures will drop dramatically once the sun goes down. It is interesting there is patches of snow on this mountain but no one seems to be very cold. Anyway, Blake manages to find some shack in the mountains (no need to question why there is one where it is) and the three make it there to await to be rescued. The accommodations are definitely not the Ritz-Carlton.
Let's see, Blake's life is in peril and Krystle is not living in the mansion. Hmmm. . .what does that mean. Oh yes, Krystle rediscovers her love and need for Blake. She is distraught. Jeff and Steven rush off to air patrol to bully their way through the rescue mission. When the volunteers put off the search to the next morning, Jeff commandeers a helicopter to find Blake himself. Steven wants to help, but Jeff knocks him out cold and finds another pilot. So, Jeff knows how to pilot a helicopter? When did that happen? Despite the elements, Jeff finds Blake's distress signal and the cabin right before the helicopter needed to return to refuel.
Some stupidity regarding this rescue mission. While in the shack, Daniel, even though Blake just saved his life, tells Blake that he is still going to make a play for Krystle after they are rescued. That cannot wait, seriously. Dominique and Lady Ashley learn of the crash while Ashley is photographing Dominique (and doing so poorly). Dominique notices how horrible Ali MacGraw acts when she learns of Blake's crash and asks Ashley what her feelings for Blake are. Ashley is honest that she made a play for Blake, but that she realized he was too much in love with Krystle for her play to succeed. Instead, Ashley has found comfort with another man (Jeff) but refuses to tell Dominique who that man is.
Even more stupidity regarding this rescue mission. Adam is too busy having sex with a blonder Claudia to even know that his father's plane went down. Apparently, Adam feels the best way to become the sole heir of the Carrington Empire is to be with Claudia. Not the best plan if you ask me. Dex, once he learns of Daniel's fate, tells Alexis, who, of course, only cares about Blake. Dex also tries to help Jeff pilot the helicopter from the ground but Jeff wants none of that and turns off the radio. There is also this crazy timing issues of when the plane went down, when the rescue occurred, and when everyone returned home. Who cares, at least it is over.
Dex is less than thrilled that Alexis only seemed to care about Blake with respect to the crash. As always, Dex accuses Alexis of still being in love with Blake (which is true). It just always seems Dex throws out that accusation when he has infidelity issues of his own. Anyway, Alexis assures Dex that she still loves Blake as the father of her children but also harbors great anger against him because of his treatment of her. There is a fine line between love and hate. Dex better take what he can get because of his involvement with Amanda.
Krystle is there to greet Blake when he returns home. When Blake learns that Krystle does not intend to return to the mansion just yet, he gives her the cold shoulder and lets her know that Daniel is okay. No reconciliation that night. The reconciliation comes the next day when Krystle throws Alexis out of the mansion. Apparently, watching Krystle manhandle Alexis turns Blake on because he is ready to make love to Krystle after that. Blake has come along way since the lily pond incident.
Alexis tries to convince Michael to un-do his breaking off the engagement with Amanda. When Alexis cannot convince Michael that love will conquer all, she reminds Michael of the economic deal Moldavia has with Colby Co. Michael retorts that he chooses when he will be paid off. Classy!!! Strange thing, though, Amanda thinks she may actually love Michael. She just did not know what love was. That was quick. After a discussion with Dex, Amanda decides she wants to talk to Michael. Amanda catches Michael at La Mirage right before he is about to leave. The two verbally spar but Amanda is eventually able to admit to Michael that she loves him. How sweet!
So, Daniel really has a death wish or something. He almost dies in South America and just survived a plane crash. Is he going to die yet? Hell, Daniel is even planning the next military mission. Daniel's brushes of death convinces Krystle that she needs to break her promise to her dead sister, Iris, and tell Daniel that Iris had his daughter, Sammy Jo. Not surprisingly, Daniel is shocked.
It is a good thing that Jeff learned how to pilot a helicopter and rescued Blake. Blake is so grateful to Jeff that he is going to alter his will to include Jeff as an heir of Denver Carrington. Even better, Blake is going to make sure that Jeff will be the one who will run Denver Carrington. If Adam had not told Claudia his plans to take over the Carrington Empire, I am sure he would not have overheard Blake's overture to Jeff. But, he did, and Adam is so pissed that he yells at a picture of Blake and smashes it. Chill, Adam, in a few episodes, Jeff will come into a lot larger fortune and have his own show. Patience, Adam, patience!
Memorable Dialogue
Alexis: But, if love cannot convince you, maybe the good old American dollar can.
Michael: I once told Amanda, and now telling you, nobody buys me unless I choose to be bought.
Krystle: I want you out of my house.
Alexis: Your house? This was my house while you were living in a shanty somewhere.
Krystle: Alexis, if you don't go down these stair and out that door, I'll throw you out - myself.
Alexis: I wouldn't want you to exert yourself, my dear. I'm leaving. . . but I will be returning.
