dynasty Episode 122 - The Titans, Part 2

As Alexis and Dex fly to some place near Moldavia, the two probably realize that this is a ridiculous rescue mission.  No wonder Dex keeps cleaning his hand gun.  So, a man with a handgun is somehow going to stop an army, even the inept revolutionary army of Moldavia.  I am just saying.  Alexis has the right idea.  Since this may be the last time the two will see each other alive, you might as well make love on the Colby Co. jet.

One final fling?

One final fling?

The plan to sneak into the country - Dex is going to pose as a jeep driver bringing back two nuns to a local convent.  The one nun is Sister Theresa, and the other is Alexis disguised as a nun.  Even these revolutionary fools knew that Dex was driving the jeep.  However, they did not realize that one of the nuns was Alexis.  The Interior Minister meets with Dex and does not believe Dex's lame story that he tried to sneak into Moldavia to open up trade relations.  Off to the dungeon for Dex.

What a site!

What a site!

Meanwhile, Sister Alexis (Maria) meets with the contact inside Moldavia - Elena.  Even though Elena's father was responsible for the coup, Elena is still loyal to King Galen and Michael.  If Sister Alexis wants to rescue Galen, she has no choice but to work with Elena.  The revolutionary army realizes that those two nuns Dex was transporting could be a problem, and they go to the convent (which looks like the backyard of Delta Rho) to find the American nun.  Sister Alexis puts on a horrible French act which fools the military.  How did they know that Sister Alexis was American anyway since Joan Collins has an English accent?

I wonder if Bill did this to Monica.

I wonder if Bill did this to Monica.

In any event, Sister Alexis does something we never thought we would see Alexis do - pray.  Alexis was praying that Dex is still alive.  It is such an awesome scene with Alexis on her knees surrounded by Catholic iconography and candles.  Alexis even acknowledged how selfish she has been.  Will she change?  Hell no.

I guess the friendship is over.

I guess the friendship is over.

Let's have a contest of who things suck more for - Adam, Claudia or Steven.  Let's begin with Adam.  Even though Blake told him not to marry Claudia, Adam went ahead anyway, and, on top of that, lied about why he was going out to San Francisco.  For that transgression, Blake is altering his will to only leave Adam $1 until Adam could be trusted again.  Adam is kind of right here that his father uses money to manipulate people to his will.  The only problem for Adam is that it works because Adam is extremely greedy.  Adam should tell his father to screw off and go work at Colby Co.  Why do that, when Adam can move his new wife into the mansion?

Nice try, Krystle

Nice try, Krystle

Claudia gets the bad news that Blake has provided a new kingdom for Michael - La Mirage.  Claudia is rightfully upset that this is Blake's way of showing displeasure for her marrying Adam.  Claudia has no problem confronting Blake and she tells him so.  Blake tries to explain himself, but there really is no excuse.  Side note, why does Michael want to run a hotel anyway?  What ability does he have to do so?  Also, Michael should not be forcing himself sexually on Amanda, or else she may actually get a divorce and Michael will lose another kingdom.

Welcome to La Mirage

Finally, there is poor Steven.  Rita invites Sammy Jo into the mansion, a move that Steven does not like.  Sammy Jo immediately starts antagonizing Steven.  Even better, Adam will be bringing Steven's ex-wife into the mansion.  Steven and Claudia get into a fight over Claudia's actions.  Steven has a point that Claudia told him she was going to San Francisco to sort out her feelings and comes back a week later married to Adam.  But, Steven loses credibility when he tells Claudia that she is jealous of his lifestyle.  What?  Claudia wants to be a confused gay man.  Claudia goes for the jugular which upsets Steven.  Steven returns to Luke's place, remembers his promise to move Danny in, and is upset and alone.

Oh yeah, I guess things also suck for Krystle.  Life cannot be fun in the attic of the stables of Delta Rho.  Joel does bring her some novels to read.  That should make Krystle feel so much more comfortable.  Oh wait.  Krystle decides she is going to fight her way out.  Upon hearing Joel coming upstairs, Krystle hides with a vase in hand.  Such an amateur attempt is easily snuffed out by Joel who threatens Krystle to stop such foolishness.

L.B. has no time for such foolishness.

L.B. has no time for such foolishness.

Rita, as expected, is having a hard time adjusting to life as Krystle.  There is just too many minor details that she keeps getting wrong.  Best part, only L.B. sees that there is something off with Rita.  When Jeff reminds Rita about her promise to watch L.B., Rita tries to encourage Jeff to take L.B. to Los Angeles with him.  But, Rita agrees to have a good time with the little man.

Rita can't believe her eyes

Rita can't believe her eyes

One thing is for sure, Rita is thrown into the fire.  The Colbys arrive (sans Bliss and Miles) and Rita is responsible for the huge party to announce the pipeline.  The Colbys are accompanied by Jason's lawyer, Garrett Boydston.  Why would Jason bring his attorney?  Oh, because Garrett has a history with Dominique.  Yes, it was a brief one month fling 20 years ago when Garrett was married, but that does not stop Garrett from wanting to rekindle the romance now that he is divorced.  How gallant!  God, men are such pigs.  At least Dominique is not having any of that.

Sable can't believe her eyes either.

Sable can't believe her eyes either.

During the party, Jason is reassured by Monica that Miles will attend even if he is going to be a little late.  No one cares that Bliss will not be there.  (A running theme in The Colbys.)  Miles is on his way as he and Randall/Fallon are driving to Denver.  Apparently, Randall/Fallon does not have enough of her memory back to know that she would never eat food from a gas station.

Looking fierce.

Looking fierce.

The party is a beautiful affair and the Colbys are wearing the gowns that appear in the opening.  Sable gives Rita the best look ever when Rita is incapable of talking much about the art in the house.  Blake thinks Jason lied about his ability to transport the oil from the South China Sea after receiving a cable from the Chinese.  Connie brings up Ben to Blake (they all played together as children).  Monica appears to be the only Colby of California to actually like Jeff.

Garrett still wants some of that!

Garrett still wants some of that!

The denouement of the evening is when Miles finally arrives with Randall/Fallon.  Gee, perfect time to arrive, just at the end of the party.  Jeff, who is busy staring at a picture of Fallon, looks out the window and sees Fallon arrive with some guy.  Randall/Fallon is too scared to enter the home (bad memories) and convinces Miles to drive off, which he does.  Jeff runs out to yell for Fallon with Blake following.  It seems this scene looks familiar.  Jeff arrives outside too late.  Damn!

Memorable Dialogue

Steven:  What the hell are you doing here?
Sammy Jo:  I've been invited here.
Steven:  By who?
Sammy Jo:  Your English is getting as sloppy as your sex life.  I thought it was by whom.

Rita:  But, I'm fonder of contemporary art.
Sable:  Oh, why don't we meet in New York sometime.  I have found a fabulous new young graffiti artist.
Rita:  A lot of it is exciting.

Garrett:  In that case, I'll be direct about it, I'd like to see you again.
Dominique:  You are seeing me, Garrett.

Claudia:  Oh Blake, I'm tired of being treated like this.  I'm sick of being the Carrington doormat.
