dynasty Episode 186 - THe Spoiler

Well, Josh is dead.  It's a shame since we hardly knew him.  Steven rushes to Sammy Jo to see if she is alright and Sammy Jo blames her and Steven for Josh's death because they did not save him.  Hey, Steven tried.  Besides, every one deals with pressure.  It's Josh's fault that he could not handle it properly.  At least that is the way Steven sees it because Steven is becoming a cold, bad ass.  Hmm. . .just like someone else.  Gee, Steven is becoming his father.

Bye Josh

Bye Josh

Sammy Jo finally realizes the lie she is living

Sammy Jo finally realizes the lie she is living

For some reason, Josh's death can be a detrimental to Blake's campaign.  It can also be a detriment to Nancy Reagan's, I mean Krystle's, anti-drug campaign.  (When did this begin?) Jeff wants Steven to require mandatory testing for the team to get the heat off Blake.  Steven would rather stand by his principles which bothers Jeff.  Steven eventually comes up with a solution.  He goes to speak to that rag tag group of people who he calls a football team, and the players, on their own, have volunteered to drug testing.  Crisis avoided and the Carrington campaign is saved once again, for the time being.

That's the entire football team? Steven should ask for his money back!

That's the entire football team? Steven should ask for his money back!

The same cannot be said of Steven and Sammy Jo's "relationship".  Sammy Jo finally realized that she is living a lie and that she needs a man who will provide her with the things that Steven refuses - namely sex.  Steven never promised Sammy Jo that, which is fair.  So, Steven decides to move out of Delta Rho and into the mansion.  Danny will stay with his mother which does not sit right with Alexis.  When Alexis finds out, she blames Blake, of course.  Blake would just wish that his ex-wife would stop meddling in the lives of their children.  This whole understanding Blake is getting out of hand.

Nice save, Alexis

Nice save, Alexis

While Sammy Jo may have finally seen the light, Steven gets to feel the knife twisted a little more into his gut.  Who is representing the new quarterback he is about to sign - Chris Deegan.  That's right, the same man that Steven was "friends" with back in Seasons 3-4 which made Blake go ballistic and sue for custody of Danny.  Anytime two gay men who have not seen each other for a while get together, the subject of whether you are single is bound to come up.  Steven, of course, is single and has no intention of changing that.  Chris, on the other hand, has been seeing an architect for the last year, and he let's Steven know that it is nice to actually have someone for physical companionship.  At least Steven has Denver Carrington and his football team.

This is what a happy gay person looks like, Steven

And this is why Fallon is not running Denver Carrington

And this is why Fallon is not running Denver Carrington

Steven's hard edge of running Denver Carrington seems to be getting on everyone's nerves, and by everyone, I mean Fallon and Dex.  Dex's snooping expedition in Natumbe is cut short when Harry Thresher, the oil minister, personally sees to it that Dex makes it back to Denver.  Dex then fills in Fallon of what he found and for some reason, Fallon is using Dex to help convince Steven to go forward with the Victron deal.  Isn't Steven right on this?  Anyway, Steven does not know why Dex has any involvement in this - should he not be finishing the damn pipeline.  Dex still is whining about Colby Co. playing hard ball with him which is preventing the pipeline from being completed.  Maybe if Dex wasn't hanging around Natumbe, things might be better.

Danny already has a new father.

Danny already has a new father.

Steven invokes the penalty clause with Dex but then Dex one ups him by invoking his out clause.  If Steven wants the pipeline, he can finish it himself.  Wait, Denver Carrington would have signed a contract with Dex that would allow him to walk away so easily.  Someone really dropped the ball there.  Regardless, Dex leaving cannot be too hard on Denver Carrington since I am sure Steven can get the easement from Colby Co.  Doesn't Adam work there?  But, we are lead to believe that this is a bad business decision on Steven's part, just like we are lead to believe that Dex is in favor of the Victron deal.  Is he?

What the hell is Krystle wearing

What the hell is Krystle wearing

Quite a lot of focus on Steven.  Time to move on.  Even though Jeff is Blake's campaign manager, he finds time to take L.B. and Danny on a ski trip.  Fallon will not be attending because she wants to divorce Jeff.  Oh, and someone has to take care of Lauren.  Remember her?  Jeff does convince Sammy Jo to come along with him and to help him with the boys.  Well, what else does Sammy Jo have to do other than claim she can't find paperwork by throwing it all around her place.  (That usually does not help.)  In the realm of perfect timing, Jeff is served with divorce papers at the mansion right before he leaves and right in front of Fallon.  Jeff was completely blindsided but Fallon claims she did not want it to happen that way.  Um, Fallon but you did or else you would have gone about it differently.  It should be a fun ski trip now for Sammy Jo and Jeff.

Way to look inconspicuous, Dana

Way to look inconspicuous, Dana

Adam finally realizes that he should buy his wife a nice piece of jewelry after getting those earrings for Karen.  The necklace is beautiful and Dana has that same damn look on her face when she tries it on.  You know that look - like she is being blackmailed, or hiding or a secret.  Generally, not happy.  This time, Dana feels guilty because she finally provided information to Sean that shows the children are divided over the Victron Deal.  How Dana presents the information is classic.  If you are going to do these cloak and dagger operations, please do not wear a fur to it.  It's hard to remain inconspicuous that way.

Why do these two, always pose like this!

Alexis is determined to do all that she can to stop Blake from becoming governor.  She tells Sean that it is not personal but that she disagrees with Blake's political views.  If anyone buys that, they are crazy.  Does Alexis even have a political view?  Besides, if the two are in the same political party, they should have somewhat similar views.  Alexis's attempt to enlist Ralph Dunbar, the man Blake defeated in the primary, to serve as a spoiler fails as Dunbar refuses to run for governor.

Easy way to spoil one's appetite

Easy way to spoil one's appetite

Why get a man to do what is namely woman's job?  Alexis is still upset with the idea of Blake being governor that she is not turned on by one of Sean's famous foot lickings.  Sean cannot believe that Alexis is so pre-occupied with Blake.  (Tell that to Dex.)  As always, Alexis swears she is over Blake and this does not sit well with Sean who storms out.  Where does Sean go?  To Leslie's apartment.  Since Sean got Leslie that position at Colby Co that she wanted, he figured that he get what he wants - some sex with Leslie.  Oh, and some chin licking too.  Don't ask, it needs to be seen for yourself.

Another way to spoil one's appetite

Another way to spoil one's appetite

Sean probably should have not stormed out because he may have been able to stop Alexis from making her next move to destroy Blake.  Alexis gets her people to call a press conference in an hour. I guess in Denver, you can be in bed and then decide to have a press conference an hour later at 10-11 at night.  What could Alexis be up to?  Blake and Krystle find out, when Blake turns on the late night news to see Alexis having a press conference to announce that she is running for governor of Colorado.  This really could not wait until the morning.  Only in Denver!

Not well thought out, Leslie

Memorable Dialogue

Chris:  Is there a man in your life?
Steven:  Hell no, it's the last thing in the world I need right now.

Sammy Jo:  We have an agreement.
Alexis:  Does that agreement include sleeping with every Tom, Dick, and [Alexis blocks a slap attempt from Sammy Jo] ooh, don't ever do that again little girl.

Alexis:  Oh Blake, when you started running for governor, I knew it would be a disaster for the voters but I didn't realize it was going to be a disaster for my children.
