dynasty Episode 99 - The Avenger

Dex really does not want Amanda living with he and Alexis, and can you blame him?  Dex must still be attracted to Amanda to some extent and cannot handle having her around.  Alexis fought too hard to get Amanda to come home to ship her back to the mansion.  Dex is not winning this, but will Alexis be the winner in the long run?

Krystle was upset with Daniel because she believed that Daniel walked out on her sister, Iris.  Daniel said that he did no such thing.  He had spoken with Iris and told her that he did not love her, but loved someone else (take a guess who).  Iris really could not have told Krystle this years ago?   Even though Krystle knows the truth, she still cannot keep the frame.

During their conversation, one of Daniel's horses goes into labor and needs assistance.   Krystle, who now grew up on a farm, wants to help.  The two and a third assistant help deliver the horse.  I do appreciate the images of the delivery.  Thank god we did not have to see Kristina in the amniotic sac.  The two celebrate the birth of the new colt, "Verdat" - which means truth.

Is this necessary

Is this necessary

Truth is something that is clearly lacking, even with Krystle.  She sees Steven later and tells him that Daniel Reece is actually Sammy Jo's father.  Don't Daniel, Sammy Jo, and Danny have a right to know?  Steven says they need to keep that information to themselves for the time being.  Krystle agrees.  Why the wait?

The green eyes monster is rearing itself

Blake is already jealous of Daniel Reece especially since Krystle spent the afternoon with him.  And, to make matters worse, Daniel has put the crazy idea in Krystle's head to start a business raising Arabians, which are nothing more than show horses.  As Daniel predicted, Blake said Krystle's career is to be a mother and wife.  Krystle wants more and this has been her lifelong dream.  If this was her lifelong dream, why did she not say so to Blake when he offered her a job instead of taking the position as Head of Public Relations at Denver Carrington?

Claudia is so pissed that Steven claimed pulled parental blood rank on her, that she moves out of the mansion and into La Mirage.  Heck, Steven does not even notice until Adam tells him to talk about it.  Steven is so pissed and slightly buzzed that he goes over to La Mirage and tries to force Claudia to return to the mansion.   When Claudia refuses, Steven then tries to force Claudia to have sex with him.  Claudia puts a quick end to that idea and challenges Steven's manhood.

Back to fighting

Back to fighting

Steven, defeated, leaves and goes to get drunk (or more likely complete getting drunk) at some bar.  It just so happens that Luke shows up and sees the drunk Steven at the bar.  When the bartender refuses to serve Steven, Luke gets Steven to turn over his keys.  But, before Luke will drive Steven home, he will bring him to his place for coffee.  And just coffee.

Claudia wants no more of Steven's "lovin"

For some reason, we need to continue this stupid plot line about Peter's Incan treasure.  And for an even more incredulous reason, Nicole and Jeff have to sneak into Claudia's office to get to the safe to see if Fallon left Peter's half of the map in it.  I am sure if Jeff just asked Claudia, she would be more than willing to let Jeff look for it.  Sure enough, the other half of the map is in the safe.  I have no clue what that map means - it is something I saw one time on the back of a Cap'n Crunch Box.  It's by a mountain???

Dominique is still upset that Blake acknowledged Amanda as his daughter but has refused to recognize Dominique as his sister.  Brady is tired of all of this Carrington talk.  Why does it matter?  It matters to Dominique.  Also, wasn't Dominique supposed to get some sort of revenge on Blake.  It is a good thing Brady reminded Dominique.  By the way, Dominique is starting to pick up a bad coughing fit.

Next time, just ask Claudia

Next time, just ask Claudia

Brady goes to feel out Blake and determines that Blake is his enemy.  Did Brady really need to visit Blake to make that determination.  Also, why is that his determination?  Blake is going to make Dominique a lot of money.  That is, if Dominique does not sell her interest in Denver Carrington.  Alexis wants to buy it at a handsome price and some shares in Colby Co.  Dominique does not trust Alexis's motive and refuses to sell.

Sisters are doing it for themselves

In pure feminist fashion, Alexis tells Brady of her offer and suggests he should reign in his wife.  Brady acknowledges that his wife is his own woman.  Still, Brady wants to know when Dominique is going to make her move on Blake.  Dominique finally does.  She tells Blake she is going to sue him for misappropriate of funds by using a part of her investment to pay the mortgage on the mansion.  Wow, go all out there Dominique.  There is no time to discuss this further as Blake receives news that Tom Carrington has suffered a heart attack and is about to die.  Blake is off to Sumatra, and Dominique tells him that she is coming along too.

Going over the wife's head!

Going over the wife's head!

It may not be the best time for Blake to go to Sumatra because Krystle is growing closer to Daniel.  So close, in fact, that Krystle asks Daniel to help her start her business.

 Memorable Dialogue

Amanda:  Look, I'm here where you want, but you can't stop one from seeing who I want, when I want and that includes Blake Carrington.
Alexis:  You're a little brat and I'm not going to allow it.
Amanda:  Try and stop me.

Alexis:  Well, isn't this more civilized than some crowded, noisy restaurant.
Dominique:  Of course it is, no witnesses.

Dominique:  Alexis, you are many things - a sister is not one of them.

Alexis:  You'll be far better off dealing with me than with Blake Carrington.
Dominique:  That's like asking me if I'd rather be clawed by a lion or bitten by a cobra.  Either way, if I'm not careful, I could be dead.

Claudia [to Steven]:  Don't you come near me.  If you have to prove you're a man, you find somebody else.  Now, get out.

Blake:  Your lawsuit is going to have to wait.  My father's had a heart attack.  He's dying.
Dominique:  Not your father - our father.  I am going with you.
