dynasty episode 9 - The Beating
Jeff returns from Paris and he is bearing gifts. He get's Krystle some perfume, not Forever Krystle (you remember that crap). For Fallon, his gifts include the hope to moving to New Orleans. Fallon does not want to move to New Orleans even if it gives Jeff the opportunity to run his own office. Jeff flies off the handle and tells Fallon that she does not want to leave because she loves Blake. Well, if she loves Blake so much, why not marry him. That is always the wrong thing to say to Fallon. Any sense of incest disturbs here (and there will be plenty) - and she drives off.
Then, Fallon thinks better of herself and returns to the grounds. But, she does not go to the mansion. No, instead, she decides to sleep with Michael. Well, Michael better have enjoyed it while it lasted, because there is a consequence - Blake will send his goons after you to beat the crap out of you. Krystle and Fallon are horrified by the beating. Fallon knows that Blake did it and she confronts him about it. Blake tells his daughter to make his marriage work with Jeff and that is final. Krystle, meanwhile, is left in the dark as to what these rules are and does not realize Blake ordered Michael's beating.
Before getting beat up, Michael did have some better news for Blake, and it only cost Blake $320. Michael learned, through Cecil's executive secretary of all people, that Steven has been seeing a woman - Claudia Blaisdel. How the executive secretary would know is beyond me. Blake is pleased though, at least it is a woman. Now Blake is not so upset with Steven leaving the home. He is so happy that Steven is showing signs of heterosexuality that he asks Krystle to get Steven a gift. Steven is finally coming around - he's with a woman, he's agreed to work at Denver Carrington, and he's becoming his own man.
I guess Blake would not care that Steven is becoming a little stalkerish. Seriously, you are having sex with a crazy woman. Is there any reason why you need to go to the bookstore and tell her how desperately you want her. Claudia is torn between her feelings for Steven and her wish of making her marriage with Matthew work. Matters become more complicated when Lindsey becomes this master sleuth and figures out that Claudia and Steven are having an affair. Lindsey even pretends to be smoking, loose vixen (teenage boys are so stupid) to get at the truth.
Lindsey, unfortunately, cannot handle the truth. She manages to find a bus that goes to Walter's home. Who knew there was such great public transportation in Colorado? Walter let's Matthew and Claudia know Lindsey is with him. That's a good thing, since the phone call from Walter interrupted a fight between Matthew and Claudia where Matthew accused Claudia of thinking her life was ruined because she got pregnant so early. Projection, Matthew. When Claudia and Matthew go to pick up Lindsey, Lindsey runs off. For some reason it takes Matthew a while to catch her. Matthew assures Lindsey that he is going to make this family work. Lindsey gives Claudia an evil look and walks off. Oh, Matthew wait until you find out.
Memorable Dialogue
Blake (to Steven): So you decided you needed more schooling, huh. Exactly how much Keats and Shelley does a 24 year old man need anyway.
Fallon: So why don't you have me beaten up?
Blake: I probably should have, but I know that won't stop you.
Fallon: You think this will.
Fallon: You just can't go around and beat up every man in Colorado I sleep with.
Blake: Try me, Fallon. Try me.
